Industrial explosion in northeast Edmonton damage a crude oil tank farm

At SECURE Energy’s Elk Point facility northeast of Edmonton, an industrial explosion occurred at a crude oil tank farm on Saturday afternoon

More than 35 firefighters from several departments, as well as RCMP and EMS, arrived at the place.

People in the area were evacuated from their houses as a precaution and the county shut off the site’s natural gas and electricity.

There were no reports of injured people and as a precaution, the county advised locals to stay away from the area.
