After an accident at the North Corridor Expansion Project site for NGTL near Fairview, Alberta, the Canada Energy Regulator (CER) issued Thursday an “Inspection Officer Order” to TC Energy’s TRP.TO NOVA Gas Transmission Ltd (NGTL).

“The Order requires the company to stop unloading pipe across the entire North Corridor Expansion Project and assess this procedure at all of their sites,” stated the regulator.

When unloading a truck at the Bear Canyon stockpile yard, a 36″ pipe landed on the worker, causing significant, non-fatal injuries.

Through the NGTL infrastructure, Canada and the US get natural gas from the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
